REJOICE

God of the sky,
God of the sea,
and bird and tree,
you are also
the God of me.

The pebble fell.
The water stirred
and stilled again.
The hidden bird
made song for you.
His praise you heard.
You heard him sing
from in the tree.
And searching still
I know you'll see
the love that wings
to you from me.

Happy Fall to you ......

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"

The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts the top off and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see."

This was passed on to me by another pumpkin. Now it's your turn to pass it to other pumpkins.

I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.

Passing the Buck

Passage: Genesis 3:1-13 reading for today!

Read Genesis 3:1-13; "Then the Lord God said..., 'What is this you have done?"(v.13)

What happened? asked God. Did you eat from the tree I wanted you to leave alone?

Yes, but it was that woman's idea, said Adam.

It wasn't really my fault, said Eve. That sneaky serpent tricked me.

Adam blamed Eve. Eve blamed the serpent. It was the first game of pass the buck in human history. Some of us may still be playing this game. We fail to accept responsibility before God for our own feelings, thoughts and behavior. We say it's our boss's fault that we missed our child's baseball game, when we scheduled the appointments. We may blame our spouse for failing to allow us to finish school, when we are the ones who gave up too soon.

Each one of us has a choice. We can choose to accept the things we can't change and learn to act on the things we can change. We gain self-respect when we decide to stop blaming others for our dilemmas and start taking responsibility for our own choices.
Author: Joan C Webb

Did you see that EACH ONE OF US HAS A CHOICE.....
I know it is so easy to blame others and not think anything of ourselves..(other people we might blame is are pastor's,wife, husband, children, friends, family, neighbors...doctors , lawyers, teachers
the list can go on and on.....)
We really need to examine our own thoughts, feelings, and stop blaming others.
Something to think about today and pray that God will reveal to us what we need to change and ask for forgiveness in blaming others.Remember we each have a choice, and God's Word will help you..

Thank you Lord for revealing in my heart...may you get ALL the GLORY!!!!
God Bless your day;
Deb

A Shimmering Quality

Passage: Genesis 1:27-31
Author: Claire Cloninger
Devotion this morning I read.

Just thinking about Eden sometimes gives me an ache in my chest. I find myself wondering about the pure and shimmering quality of life there that somehow slipped through our fingers.

Just picture it. It was nothing to begin with. Nothing. And then God opened his mouth and spoke, and when he did everything started taking shape. He used his words to make a world! He called forth forces of symmetry and beauty and great power. He laid boundaries of order and balance and proportion. With the precision of a master clock maker he set in motion the weights and wheels of a perfect creation. And then, seeing the beauty of his own handiwork, he proclaimed with pride, "Good . Good." And 'Very good."

Light, darkness, sky, land, water, winds and tides; plants, trees, sun, moon, stars and planets. And animals- flying, soaring, swimming, loping, crawling, galloping. All things in their vast array he created.

Then finally he created human beings, both male and female his shining glory, whom he put in charge of it all.

WOW! God's word is so touching and convicting.... I pray you will pray and meadate on God's word today as I have.

Elections are going to come soon and in these verse's I see. He created human beings, both male and female his shining glory...do see that!!! for His shining glory One Man + One Woman..

So my two cent's worth.. Don't Redefine Marriage. Vote NO on question One.
MARRIAGE=ONE MAN + ONE WOMAN

A Cup of Forgivenss

....He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake   Psalm 23:3

Emilie Barnes says it very clear: For most of us, most of the time, forgiveness is an ongoing process, not a "done deal." Forgiveness is an absolute necessity for healthy living. But it can also be a source of faith, a reminder that we must keep going back to our forgiving Father for this cleansing elixir. We can't manufacture it ourselves; it always come by the grace of God. avid's beautiful song of forgiveness, Psalm 51. David's life was filled with one sin after another- things that were done to him and things that he did to others. But he knew the secret of coming to God for forgiveness. "Create in me a clean heart, O God," he prayed. He asked God not only to forgive, but to "wash me...whiter than snow."

How beautiful our cup can be when we offer it to the Lord-washed and cleaned, white and pure as the fresh-fallen snow, filled to the brim with beautiful, sparkling forgiveness.  WOW! HOW REFRESHING!!!!

Things change as we practice the process of forgiveness. Over time hurts lose their power to hurt us. More important, emptying out anger becomes a habit. We become less likely to let hurts fester, and we become more careful of the feelings of others.

Luke 6:37 Forgive, and you will be forgiven.....
First John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is so vital to remember in those times when, for one reason or another, the forgiveness doesn't seem to be working.

Forgiveness is not a superglue for broken relationships. It's not an eraser for hurtful remarks or painful memories. And forgiveness doesn't excuse us from having to cope with the consequences of sin in our lives and the lives of others.

Forgiveness works, but it works at the soul level, sometimes deeper than we an see.

Love How she ends: TRUE FORGIVENESS----GIVEN OR RECEIVED -----WORKS BECAUSE IT CHANGES ME..
Did you see that....it changes me/you. Most people like to point fingers or blame others...but deep down  GOD is changing me/you... LOVE IT!!!!

THANK YOU LORD! Here is some verses on forgiveness: Matthew 18:23-33; Psalm 51:1-13 (beautiful song)

Well hope you pray that the Lord will touch you where you need to be: God Bless and have a great day.
Deb

A Cup of Encouragement!

Do you meet people or yourself being criticize to others. Satan is always trying to pour out criticism in people, make people feel inadequate and insecure and thus damage your ability to share Christ's love.
You have a chose to encourage or discourage!
What we need to do is to keep our cup filled with love and acceptance and affirmation and encouragment from a dependable Source. I had to decide who I wanted to listen to- who was going to have power over me. When we make that decision is what would enable us to empty our the criticism.
It is so important that we keep emptying the cup of criticism and filling it with positive things-so we can fill others cups with encouragement instead of criticism.
Read  I Peter 3:4
"inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
Thats my prayer that my life will be a cup of encouragement and affirmation rather than a cup of criticism.

There is a difference between honest discussion and hurtful accusation. There is a difference between being aware of someone's faults and shattering that person's confidence. There is a big difference between tactfully returning a gift or stating an opinion and filling someone's cup with criticism.
When your in doubt, don't say anything.
So when criticism starts to fill your cup again, and it will, recognize it for what it is and stop letting it in, pour love in you cup. God will help you, if you pray and ask Him.
Verses on Encouragement:
Proverbs 3:27; Mark 14:4-6; Luke 6:37; John 3:17; Romans 8:1; Philippians 4:8 (One of my favorites)
I Thessalonians 5:14;15;James 4:11; I Peter 4:8
Enjoy! And my your cup be filled with Encouragement today.
God Bless; Deb

A CUP of Quietness!

I have been reading this book named: "Fill  My Cup, Lord.....with the peace of your presence.
by: Emilie Barnes. Great little devotional book. I will be posted some of her words as I share with you all.
today:
Psalm 23:2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
Quiet time!!! image of stillness and serenity, of a quiet communion with God-reading His Word and praying.
I need to be willing to come to him, to offer him my cup filled with whatever is troubling me. If I do I know my Lord will give me a quiet spirit.
Quiet time is a gift God gives to me.
Simply offer yourself to him. He's the one who provides the quiet spirit. You and I just need to be willing to come to him, and him alone.
Emilie Barnes couldn't say it any better: The longer I live, the more I thirst for those quiet times in my heavenly Father's presence, the more I long to climb up into the lap of my Abba-Daddy ad enjoy the security of those everlasting arms. Sometimes I feel like a toddler stretching my own arms up, dancing on my toes, begging to be held by the One who loves me so much.
"Up Daddy. Want up
And then he lifts me up.
The longer I live, the more I know that if I will just hold up my cup to him, even my cup of anger and stress and trouble and confusion, he will be faithful to fill my cup with the peace of his presence.
Are you thirsting for God's peace and presence?  Longing have your cup full? Take time to have a Quiet time with the Lord, and pray "Fill My Cup Lord....and I know He will.
I pray this was encouraging words to you today. God alone gives the peace in your life!
A Sip of Quietness: Look up these verses and share with me how God touched your hearts today.
Job 34:29; Psalm 130:5; Psalm 62:5; Ecclesiastes 4:6; Isaiah 30:15; John 14:27; I Corinthians 14:33;
Philippians 4:6-7; Matthew 11:28 and one of my favorite verses that I claim:
Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory.
May you have a Blessed Day!

A Word for Thirsty Souls

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
How can so many people's lives be so full and their hearts and souls be so thirsty?
Whatever your circumstances, you, too, can hold up your cup and it will be filled.
If your cup is polished and dry, hold it out for the Lord's plentiful pouring.
If your cup is full of the old and the unsatisfying, hold it up for the Lord's cleansing.
If your cup is cracked and broken, hold it up anyway, for the Lord's resources are plentiful and can keep even leaky cups replenished.
Come to him and Him alone as you are, cup in hand, and hold it up to receive his blessings.
"Surely..my cup runneth over."
Turn to the Lord and He will help fill your cup...up...:)
