"Easter Egg Hunt"

We had family up for Easter and always do an Easter egg hunt with grandchilren. Just for fun! This year the rooster and henny penny got in on it.
We had so...much fun watching the rooster and hen's getting at the eggs as well. Oh! We also had fun watching grandson's hunting all around the farm grounds for eggs. But they did have some help with the rooster and hen's.

New Birth's on the farm!

Tonight my Doe had two kids . One jet black, she looks like a sheep and the other one, white with tan on behind and a strip down the back. They are just beautiful...

Greatest man in History, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called Him Master. Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was... buried in a tomb, yet He lives today! Happy Easter

The Story of Easter!

Jesus' last days on earth...
Excitement of the triumphant entry into Jerusalem

Easter Story Eggs

Easter Story Eggs

Hope you enjoy and most of all share this with someone. I have used them for lots of things such as church and Sunday School activities and have used them just to hand out as a witness tool.

The following is the version I was given, although I've seen a few versions since
There are many things that could be added but I like this version because it is concise and simple. For Christians, we may find all the little added items interesting but if we are using it as a witness tool to share the Resurrection story you need to remember that most people will not read through a long list of items but might take the time to glance over a short list of them. Also a simple list of items is great for kids to digest rather than a long list of them. It's easier for them to remember a few things from the story rather than throwing out everything at once.

Warning: Please don't give these to smaller children because they are full of tiny objects.

What You Will Need For Each Story Egg:

  • Plastic Easter Eggs To fill with the symbols.
  • 8-10 inch Tulle or Netting Circles (depends on size of eggs used)
  • Ribbons
  • Penny (to represent the 30 pieces of silver Judas used to betray Christ.
  • Leather Strip (to represent the reed used to beat Christ)
You can usually find on rolls at craft stores.
  • Nails (to represent the nails used to nail Christ to the cross)
  • Thorn (to represent the crown of thorns placed on Christ's head)
I usually cut pieces of stem from rose bushes in about 1 1/2 inch lengths.
  • Cross (to represent the cross he was placed upon)
I usually find small twigs and cut them to size,
using a dot of hot glue to glue them together.
  • Linen (to represent the linen cloth they wrapped Christ in after His death)
    Any white material will do.
I usually cut it into approximately 1 inch squares.
  • Stone (to represent the stone placed in the opening of the tomb)
Just make sure they are small enough to fit inside the eggs along with all of the other symbols.
  • Story Tag With Symbol Meanings and Scriptures You'll find the tags below.
Directions:
Place one of each item inside plastic eggs. Fold the story tag to place inside egg. To make them a little dressier, tie egg up with tulle, punch a hole in corner of card and attach with ribbons.

How to Make Resurrection Cookies

How to Make Resurrection Cookiesthumbnail

Found this recipe on line : I'm always looking for something to do with my children and grandchildren. We love doing hands on project and read/share what the real meaning of each Holiday. As Matthew 28:1-9 Jesus had Risen!
This recipe is a wonderful tradition to start with your kids, no matter what age. You need to make these cookies the night before Easter. They will cook overnight in a warm oven and will be ready for you and your family Easter morning.

Difficulty:
Easy

Instructions

things you'll need:

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 cup whole pecans
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • a pinch of salt
  • a cup of sugar
  • a zip-lock baggie
  • a wooden spoon
  • wax paper
  • cookie sheet
  • tape
  • Bible
    • Turn your oven on to 300.  Put the pecans in the zip-lock baggie. Have your children beat the pecans with the wooden spoon. Explain how this is a symbol of the Roman soldiers beating Jesus. Read John 19:1-3.
    • 2.
    • Have the children smell the vinegar and then put it in the bowl. Explain how this is a symbol of when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, He was given vinegar. Read John 19:28-30.
    • 3
Add the egg whites to the vinegar. Explain how eggs represent life and these eggs are a symbol of Jesus giving His life for us. Read John 10:10-11.
    • 4
Sprinkle salt into the hands of your children. Have them taste it and then throw the rest into the bowl. Explain how this is a symbol of the salty tears that were shed by Jesus' disciples and loved ones. It also represents the bitterness of our sin. Read Luke 23:27
    • 5
Add the sugar. Explain how the sweetest part of the Resurrection Story is that Jesus died because He loves us and wants us to trust Him so that we can be His children. Read Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16
    • 6
Beat your ingredients with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes. When stiff peaks have formed explain that the white is a symbol of how clean we are when Jesus forgives us our sins when we trust Him as our Savior. Read Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3.
    • 7
Gently fold the nuts into your mixture and drop by teaspoons on to wax papered cookie sheets. Explain that this is a symbol of the rocky tomb in which they laid Jesus' body. Read Matthew 27:57-60
    • 8
Put the cookies into the oven, shut the door and turn it off. Have your children place pieces of tape on the oven door to seal it. Explain that the Roman soldiers rolled the heavy stone in front of the tomb's entrance to seal in Jesus' body. Matthew 27: 65-66.
    • 9
Tell the children it is now time to go to bed! They may feel sad, just as Jesus' disciples and loved ones felt that night they laid Jesus' body in the tomb. Read John 16:20, 22.
    • 10
On Easter morning, open the door and give everyone a cookie. As they are looking at it, explain that the cracks in the cookie represent the tomb. When they bite, they will find that the cookies are hollow inside! This is a symbol of the empty tomb, for the stone was rolled away...and the tomb was empty....Jesus had Risen! Matthew 28:1-9
Hope you try this out with your family and may all you have a Wonderful Easter! Remember what Jesus has done for us...
