Chapter 1 :Lord Change Me"

iChapter 1

Who , me change?
I'm doing  okay on the level
where I am.
You mean there's something
better than
what I have?

Do you like yourself pretty much as you are now? Or do you feel you could stand some changing?
Do you think you could have better relationships with people than you have now?
Can you think of a particular relationship that could be improved? Are you satisfied with your relationshp with God or could it be better also?

How God showed me this week where I needed to be changed. One thing I do struggle with is self worth .
God you can use someone else that has more knowledge then I, But thankfully God showed me that I'm worthy ....I'm a child of the King!!!  Ephesians 4:1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.
I see here God has chosen me(us) to be Christ's representatives on earth, in light of this truth, Paul challenges us to live lives worthy of the calling we have received-the awesome privilege of being called Christ's very own. This includes being humble, gentle, patient, understanding, and peaceful. People are watching your life. Can they see Christ in you?How well are you doing as his representative?
Just remember Satan will try to do ANYTHING to get your minds, heart and soul off Christ..He will do anything to discourage you..So DON'T SATAN win... CHRIST IS THE VICTORY!!!!

Becoming more Christlike-- Admitting that I(you) was the one who needed changing.
We are responsible before God for our actions and the changes that need to be made in us. Other people are responsible before God for their actions and need to change.

What is the goal of any change in our lives? Romans 8:29; I John 3;2
For the benefit of any non-Christians in the session, mention that only members of God's family-those who have accepted His gift of eternal life through faith in His Son Romans 6:23- can bear the 'family likeness of His Son: Romans 8:29.

Study I Peter 3:1-2

Some questions for you to think about.
How "chaste (pure) and reverent" would you rate your behavior on a scale of 1-10?
Are there any relationships with your family, close friends, and acquaintance you think could be improved? Consider those with your husband, wife, children, mother-in-law, and so forth.

Do you think the relationship would improve if the other person would only change? Stop doing so-and-so? Stop saying this or that?
How would others rate you on this scale? Do people have a tendency to tell you what they think of you rather than to observe your "chaste and reverent" behavior?
How would God rate you on this scale? As He looks at your life, do you think He feels all the problems in your relationships with others are always the other person fault? Does He see anything in your life that needs changing? How well do you know Him-as Saviour and Lord? Do you feel the need to pray, "Lord , change me today"?

Are you willing to change in any way He asks you to?
Do you honestly feel you could ask other people to " do as I do not as I say"?

Assignment: Pick one person toward whom his behavior needs to change....

Something to think about and apply to your life...Remember WWJD

Ladies Bible Study FUN NIGHT!!

We had a great time drawing on these mugs with sharpie markers....
Thought it would be a great reminder for all of us as we sip on a cup of coffee or tea , it will remind us that we need to "Lord Change Me" every day....Romans 8:29 to be like his Son;
Romans 12:2 Let God transform you .....

What you do is draw or write on them how ever you like, then turn your oven on to 350 and bake them for 30 minutes. Then shut your oven off and let them cool down in oven.
Hand wash them do not put them in the dish washer...
Enjoy!! hugs Deb

Apple Pie Filling

18 pounds apples
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
4 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup corn starch
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
10 cups water
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Need: about 7 quart jars and lids. Cleaned and hot bathed jars..
Wash apples, then peel, core, and slice. To prevent apples from browning, place them in large bowls of water with lemon juice added(2 teaspoons lemon juice to 5 cups water)

In a large pot, combine sugar, starch, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for approximately 15 minutes or until thick and caramel colored. Remove from heat and stir in 3 tablespoons lemon juice.

Put apples into pot with the liquid. Mix well...bring it back to a boil...simmer for about 1-2 minutes. Ladle the hot apple/liquid mixture into canning jars. Seal and place on counter with towel wrapped over them.

"Lord Change Me" Bible Study.....

Ladies Bible Study started up last night and the book we will be doing is : "Lord Change Me" I'm so excited about doing this with the ladies and thought I would share some of the study with you.

I open up with Romans 8:29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

So I see Gods ultimate Goal for us is to make us like Christ...

I John 3:2 Dear friends , we are already God's children but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.

As we become more like Him, we discover our true selves, the persons we were created to be.
How can we become like Christ? By READING and HEEDING(give attention too; careful attention) the Word, by STUDING his life, spending time in PRAYER, being FILLED with his SPIRIT(Holy Spirit), and DOING his Work in the World.
Did you see that....I see six commands for us to apply in our life.

1. Read: II Cor. 3:18  So all of us who have had that VEIL REMOVED can SEE and REFLECT the glory of the Lord. And the Lord who is the Spirit makes us more and more like him as WE ARE CHANGED into his GLORIOUS IMAGE.

2. Heed: II Tim. 3:18  ALL SCRIPTURE is inspired by God and is useful to TEACH US what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It CORRECT US when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

3. Study: Joshua 1:8 Study this Book of Instruction continually MEDITATE on it DAY and Night so you will Be sure to OBEY EVERYTHING WRITTEN IN IT. Only then will you PROSPER and SUCCEED in ALL YOU DO.
see here study: devote; Meditate: deep thought; Obey: Do It....

4. Prayer: Prov 15:8b Delights in the prayers of the upright...
God delights in us when we pray.....
Eph.6:18 Pray in the Spirit at All Times and on every occasion. STAY ALERT and BE PERSISTEN in your prayers for ALL believers everywhere.

Don't give up....God know's before we ask, but He is seeing if we are going to be faithful to pray .

5. Holy Spirit Filled: Eph. 1:13,14  And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by GIVING you the HOLY SPIRIT, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God's guartantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify Him.

you have to be a child of God to have the Holy Spirit indwell in you... Romans 10:9-16

6. Doer's; James 1:22a But don't just listen to God's word, You must do what is says.

You can not blame other's,,,the choice is yours.....Be Obedient to the Word of God....
Only then will you prosper and succeed.

My prayer to you ALL is Ps. 1:2,3 But they delight in the law(ALL SCRIPTURE) of the Lord meditating on it DAY and NIGHT.. They are like trees planted along the riverbank bearing fruit each season...

I pray that you will meditate on the Word of God and be planted...bearing fruit so others can see CHRIST IN YOU....

God Bless and keep watch for more on ''LORD CHANGE ME"

The Twelve Disciples (number eight)

Well sorry it took me so long to get back . Hope you learn and enjoy the study on the Twelve Disciples.
Name: Thomas
Occupation: unknown
Outstanding Characteristcs: Courage and doubt
Major Events in His Life: Suggested the disciples go with Jesus to Bethany even if it meant death: asked Jesus about where he was going: refused to believe Jesus was risen until he could see Jesus alive and touch his wounds.
What Jesus Said about Him: Said Thomas believed because he actually saw Jesus after the Resurrection.
A Key Lesson from His Life: Even when Christians experience serious doubts, Jesus reaches out to them to restore their faith.
Selected References: Matthew 10:3 ; John 14:5; 20:24-29: John 21:1-13
